There is no structure and organization for who pays the ecotax and who does not, said Martin Milushev
The price of photovoltaics, inverters, and batteries will increase dramatically from July 1, 2025 due to the product eco-tax. It will jump from 2% to 16%.
“It is expected that there will be some logic and consistency so that there is no stress in the market. We are all affected by this increase, which is 10 times and not small at all. The big case that we are experiencing for the market is that not all companies pay the ecotax,” said the commercial director of a solar company, Martin Milushev, in “Bulgaria Morning”.
According to him, in this sector, as in many others, there is no control.
“There is no structure and organization of who pays the ecotax and who does not. We declare what we contribute and pay the tax accordingly. This way, if we do not declare something, we can avoid paying the ecotax. One panel is currently 140 leva. From July 1, it would cost at least 200. A household needs at least 15 to support its needs,” he added for Bulgaria ON AIR.
There will be an outflow because of prices
You can’t rely entirely on the panels, he is categorical.
“Against the backdrop of low wages in Bulgaria, this is quite a big difference. There will undoubtedly be an outflow. Boutique installations are expected to be made. The mass consumer will certainly think very seriously before making such an installation,” the guest explained.
According to him, it would be good for the state to monitor who pays the ecotax, because this means more money in the state treasury.
“We are fair and insist on honoring our contracts. For our large clients, we have already set aside quantities that are at the agreed prices and not to put them in an uncomfortable situation. The state can be a sieve and weed out the companies that want to work in the market and know what they are doing,” explained Milushev.
