“The prices of white and black appliances will soar. This is a logical process that we have delayed over the last 20 years. There are fees that have been introduced by the EU, in fact they are recommended, but each country independently decides what the level of these fees should be. In the last month, there has been an increase in the price of services of recycling organizations, which actually take a percentage of the state fee. This leads to an increase in prices.”
This was stated in the program “This Morning” by Dr. Eng. Dimitar Beleliev, Chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (BASEL).
“This eco-tax has not been changed in the last 10 years. White business is arguing with white business of utilization organizations about how much this fee should be. And in fact, the state should be the arbitrator in this dispute. It is good for the ministry to come up with a logical position on how much this fee should be. We, as businesses and as consumers, want to have specific figures in order to do some analysis and understand where we are,” said Eng. Beleliev.
