Solar power plants and the power of competence

Solar power plants enjoy strong investment interest, making their way through European programs that support the construction of such capacities. AmonRa Energy AD is working on the creation of its logistics base in Shumen.

Construction activities are expected to begin in the second half of this year. “This is an achievement because the larger warehouse space will contribute to larger quantities of goods available, which will allow for faster service to partners and customers,” commented Kiril Beleliev, Director of Supplies and Sales and member of the Board of Directors of AmonRa Energy. He is responsible for communication and commercial relations with over 15 of the world’s leading manufacturers of solar panels, inverters and structures for photovoltaic systems, including Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. (“Sungrow”), Deye, Growatt, SAJ (inverters) and the only solar panel manufacturer listed on the high-tech exchange Nasdaq – Canadian Solar.

Territory

AmonRa Energy mainly supplies equipment to large installation companies, as well as to foreign investors engaged in installation activities. The company has a subsidiary through which it also offers IMS activities. It identifies niches and market segments with growth potential: Pump inverters and controllers, batteries and inverters, as well as charging stations for electric vehicles. They see opportunities and are working in this direction, with one of the recommendations being to focus on home charging stations, since electric cars are mainly used in urban environments.

Practices

Competition in this business is growing, but it is mainly between competence and incompetence. “Before a problem arises, a solution must be sought to prevent it. This is done through proper design and the precise selection of equipment and installation. Mass plants are built only on the basis of recommendations from people with commercial interest. When a problem arises and you turn to those who created it, it is often unsolvable by them. In Bulgaria, a “blind time” has come for solar power and there are standards that are being ignored. They are related to the elements that can be used in a photovoltaic power plant.

In Germany, a number of restrictions have been introduced for rooftop photovoltaics and the size of the panels that are installed. There is also a requirement in some cases that they be double-sided in order to reduce the risk of fire in the installation. Smaller panels are better secured and this leads to less damage. When someone does not adhere to good practices, there is bound to be a problem,” explains Kiril Beleliev.

If you are looking for the best

Let everyone with interests in this field be informed that there is a bad practice of solar installations being made by unlicensed companies. In addition, people and companies, who have felt the financial result of a profitable investment in solar panels and power plants, want to install photovoltaics where possible and impossible – with this also be careful. “The good “mathematics”, which saves on the purchase of electricity, makes many look for hybrid solutions for the purpose of energy storage. The price of basic equipment has fallen, the price of electricity is now significantly lower, but there are installation companies that still charge high prices,” says Beleliev. And he invites: “If you are looking for the best at the best price, turn to us and our partners.”

Direction

The rush to install solar power plants is a fact and according to AmonRa Energy, it is time to think about new practices that would allow those who want to invest. In Romania, for example, there are photovoltaic cooperatives and you can invest your small part in a large park and thus participate in this business. The Bulgarian company is already looking for diversification and expansion into other markets.
